Who are the top SEP Contributors to WiFi 7?

Wi-Fi 7, also referred to as IEEE 802.11be, is a new specification for Wi-Fi devices currently in the works. It is an extremely high-throughput wireless network that uses 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, and 6Ghz frequency bands. Wi-Fi 7 leverages advanced technology to maximize overall capacity, decrease latency and increase speed to every device. Wi‑Fi 7 can theoretically support bandwidth up to 30 gigabits per second (Gbps) per access point, which is just over three times as fast as the maximum 9.6 Gbps speed of
Wi-Fi 6 (also known as 802.11ax). The draft authors call this “Extremely High Throughput,” or EHT.

Through this report, we look at who the top contributors are to the Wi-Fi 7 standard, which is set to be complete by 2024. We have considered contributions from 2019 up until 2022 and patents filed between the same period.
